Ultra-rare, previously unreleased, mid-70's U.K. underground self-proclaimed doom metal. Drug crazed, Sabbath style occult-rock. Wild raging heavy rock stuff with manic vocals, mad guitar and organ. 12 tracks includes 5 live, rehearsal demos and 'Warlord (Pt II)' reprise. It's a wonder how this slipped through the cracks.
Recording Information:
Tracks 1&2 recorded on a 4 track machine at Alvic Studios, London SW19, circa 1977 by WARLORD trio John Alexander (guitar/vocals), Andy Dunlop (bass/vocals), Paul Cantwell (drums) as they metamorphosed into STALLION.
Tracks 3-5 recorded on a 16 track machine at Escape Studios, nr Egerton, Kent, circa 1975 by WARLORD. John Alexander (lead/rhythm guitar), Andy Dunlop (bass/acoustic guitar), Ivan Coutts (Keyboard/vocals), Richard Roffey (vocals), Paul Cantwell (drums).
Track 6 recorded on a 16 track machine at Escape Studios, circa 1974 by pre-WARLORD outfit, THE BLACKSMITHS. Ivan Coutts (Keyboard/vocals), Dave Smith (lead guitar), Chris Pritchard (rhythm guitar), Andy Harsent (bass), Kip (drums).
Tracks 7-11 recorded live during rehearsal on a 2 track machine at St. Peters' Church Hall, Wimbledon, circa 1975 by WARLORD.
Track 12 recorded on a 16 track machine at Escape Studios, circa 1975 by WARLORD. Additional backing vocals courtesy of SECOND SIGN.
All songs written, arranged and produced by WARLORD except track 6 by THE BLACKSMITHS.
NB The track "Warlord" (pt. II) was featured on a rock opera called "Turn Of The Century", masterminded by Ivan Coutts. Interestingly, this musical extravaganza included an array of notable musicians such as Jeff Beck and members of UPP.
